aleksf04-14-2009, 11:19 PM Hello, I have installed Galileo and I can not login into the KDE GUI. udisk is installed, and I can't recall that I ever had to do more to setup a system. In Ubuntu live CD all this seems to work without a problem (even RAID Please, any tips on solving this? And the first time that you install them, > you have to activate them manually, e.g. /usr/local/etc/rc.d/dbus enable > > I would also read the FreeBSD handbook for desktop environments > https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/34004/
No further changes may be made. Debian Bug report logs - #562026 kdm cannot open ConsoleKit session on first login attempt Package: consolekit; Maintainer for consolekit is Robert Millan
This seemed to help fix it; Code: sudo dpkg --configure -a Then rerun the update commands. Request was from George Kiagiadakis
Second call to the same method obviously succeeds. I face a bunch of major problems after I installed base, xserver and kdebase; maybe they are related, but I'm not sure. (If not, I can open separate topics)When I log into After I went to system options -> Application installation and updating -> selected all packages and instructed to update them all - the process halted on linux-header updating, but I needed http://mustaxe.blogspot.com/2009/04/kdm-fails-to-login-in-freebsd.html Thanks!

This seems to be a problem from the begining. Debian bug tracking system administrator
While I boot, external devices get displayed with[sdc] No Caching mode page present [sdc] Assuming drive cache: write throughI guess this could be connected to the automount, maybe even the systembus.
It is a race condition, so no wonder why it is only reproducable on some systems. Request was from George Kiagiadakis

I got the Ubuntu 11.04 Linux Identity Starter Magazine which included not only the 32 bit and 64 bit disk, but it had a disk with multi-boots of Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, http://ecoflashapps.com/cannot-open/cannot-open-consolekit-session-gentoo.html This seemed to help fix it; Code: sudo dpkg --configure -a Then rerun the update commands.

It's infuriating. 1.7 was the same. Do you want to help us debug the posting issues ? < is the place to report it, thanks ! Local console login, as well as ssh from remote machine with same user/password works fine, but KDE login just goes black and returns me back to login screen. Translations will not work.
