I have an installation server on one of the windows boxes. The client had Data Protector A.06.10 while the cell manager was running Data Protector A.06.11. At a loss as to why the backups are failing for just certain clients. After successfully uninstalling the Data Protector version on the client using MS clean up utility (mscuui2.exe)I was able to successfully deployed the Disk Agent using the Data Protector Manager GUI.All is can telnet from client to cell manager on port 5555. I have a few clients that I've had to edit the \etc\hosts file and add the cell server and all was well. I'm having the same issue. I can run a ftp and telnet session ok using either telnet/ftp from the command line and from Exceed.I think I need to look deeper into what is or not going I was able to backup and restore data to the client but now if I try a restore the session just stops.
