Even tried terminal, and force mount on terminal and it'd give me the whole try Read Only mount -also didn't work. When I first plugged it in, DU mounted it fine (it was 1TB of a 2TB sparse bundle) and I did a simple erase. Then I typed the command to mount and it did. I suspect you are going to have to buy a new disk - you seem to have erased it and have a Time Machine backup.
