NuGet and Assembly Redirects The cool thing about NuGet is that it auto-detects whenever assembly redirects are needed, and adds them to the Web.config or App.config file of your project. I've done a search in my solution catalogs .csproj files, and every where I have Unity I have: Reference Include="Microsoft.Practices.Unity, Version=2.0.414.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35, processorArchitecture=MSIL" Can't find any reference anywhere which goes When I was updating the EF package I noticed that this solution uses a lot of old packages. Using Windows explorer, browse to the DLL location, right-click on the DLL and then select 'properties'. Another common reason is WAWS runs 32bit IIS worker process running on X64 system.
