I am running version 11.5.6 on MAc OSX 10.5.8 Report Mel- Jan 13, 2010 01:52PM what ca I do if I dont have Iworks?? My laptop just updated to Windows 10, and Excel 2016 can't open any of my existing Excel files. I wasted many hours scouring the Internet for a solution to this exact problem. In the meantime, if you're receiving this bug, check your folder/directory and core hard drive names to be sure they don't include any non-standard characters. But, other Excel files with this designation still open without a problem. if you view the file properties, is it a xls file or an sxls file?

Any suggestions?
