I just performed a test on our test machines, I can’t pin the .exe file stored in Network Shared Drive to the taskbar too. Also annoying that I have to find images for everything - it doesn't pick up the app's icon, and you can't choose an EXE as a source for the image. –Logan I have done various registry hacks and other messing around with the install since my last post and the problem has yet to reoccur.
